Meet Our Staff


Dr. Kerry L. Skinner
Senior Pastor of Northway Church

Kerry L. Skinner, D.Min. has served in pastoral roles for more than 35 years with an emphasis in Christian discipleship and pastoral counseling. Through his writing and teaching, Dr. Skinner is recognized internationally as an advocate of biblical sufficiency. He has traveled extensively through North America teaching conferences for pastors, counselors, and lay leaders on topics such as revival, repentance, holiness, and biblical counseling.

Dr. Skinner's key mentor was Dr. Henry Brandt, Pioneer of Biblical Counseling. For over five decades, Henry Brandt-international consultant, educator, counselor, author, and conference speaker-impacted the lives of thousands of people.

The legacy of his ministry is written in the hearts and lives of generations of men, women, and children around the world. Dr. Skinner served as associate to Dr. Henry Blackaby in the office of Prayer, Revival, and Spiritual Awakening for the North American Mission Board and later served as executive vice-president of Henry Blackaby Ministries.

He has served as associate pastor of First Baptist Church of West Palm Beach and Cottage Hill Baptist of Mobile, Alabama. His most recent books are, The Joy of Repentance and The Christian Life: A Human Impossibility. He has written numerous books with Dr. Henry Brandt, including: The Heart of the Problem, The Word for the Wise, Breaking Free from the Bondage of Sin, I Want to Enjoy My Children, and Marriage God's Way. He and his wife, Elaine, have one son, Jason and three grandchildren.

Alison Veazey, MA, LCDC, EAP
Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor
Director of Laity Care Center

Alison Veazey earned her Master's degree in Professional Counseling from Liberty University in 2012. Alison is a Licensed Clinical Pastoral Counselor (LCPC) through the National Christian Counselors Association (NCCA), a Certified Equine Assisted Psychotherapist (EAP) and a Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC).

Alison has counseled as a Lay Counselor with Woodlands Church for the past six years under the supervision of Dr. Paul Looney. She has worked at The Right Step in The Woodlands Texas as a drug and alcohol counselor. She has also volunteered with Janet Nicholas, MA, LPC, LCDC, EAP through her Equine Assisted Psychotherapy program Trails Less Traveled.

Alison is currently the Director of Laity Care Ministry at Northway Church of The Woodlands, and has started an Equine Assisted Learning program at Victory Reins in Conroe, Texas. Alison has been married for twelve years to her amazing husband Chris and has two children, Hannah and Parker.

Laity Care Leaders

Our Laity Care Leaders are dedicated disciples of Jesus Christ. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, Laity Care Leaders minister to people and give guidance as to how one can be set free. Each Laity Care Leader operates under the leadership of Northway Church of the Woodlands. He or she utilizes the core curriculum as taught from the Holy Bible and textbooks authored or co-authored by Dr. Kerry L. Skinner with Dr. Henry Brandt. Our Laity Care Leaders undergo training led and created by Dr. Kerry L. Skinner.
